Re: vDrive - Microdrive hardware emulator for the ZX and QL
I guess giving you some links to the referenced programs might help to get you started. Tom Dalby’s Z80onMDR: http://tomdalby.com/other/z80onmdr.html Skoolkit (v9.1 at time of posting): https://github.com/skoolkid/skoolkit A better way to install skoolkit, once you have Python installed, is simply t...

Re: vDrive - Microdrive hardware emulator for the ZX and QL
I’ve personally found the best way is to use skoolkid’s “skoolkit” (cross-platform as it requires Python to be installed), along with his t2sfile “recipes”. These convert tap and tzx files into .z80 files, (downloading from online repositories where available or locally stored files if not), which y...

Re: ZX-MMC2 Update log
As uncommon as the Memotech cases are, finally managed to track one down so don't go altering the design, will ya?!sirmorris wrote:As regards cases - the board is sized to fit snugly inside a Memopak 16K case. I won't be pursuing any other option. That would make the cost way too high.

Re: ZX-MMC2 Update log
How many are you planning on making for a "first-run"?
If there are enough, I'd like to be put on the waiting list.

Re: ZX81 and sound
A short question about sz81: first it is excellent emulator, I just can't find any way to take screen snapshots. Any tips ? If the application doesn't have a screen-dump option, you can probably do this from the Operating System. Which OS are you using? If you're a Windows user, Hold down the Alt k...

Re: ZX80 *extremely* low video output
Thanks fruitcake. The image I get on all my TVs is like this one (borrowed from your web-site): As it's a good 20 years or so since I built anything on Veroboard, would you be willing to make a circuit up and let me pay you for it? BTW, the image which shows how to fit the board apears to be missing...

Re: ZX80 *extremely* low video output
No. I don't have a scope. I wouldn't know what to do with one... My multimeter has a capacitor test and I also have a tool made by Peak (An Atlas DCA55 IIRC - It's downstairs JATM) which can be used for testing Transistors & Diodes, etc. I'll strip a cable later and test the composite output. Is it ...

ZX80 *extremely* low video output
Hi I just bought a "working" ZX80 from eBay and whilst it (sort of) works, the video output is so low, I can only just make out the characters. This is on an old "tube" Sony Trinitron set from about 1990. I'd hate to think what it'd look like on my 2 year old Bravia!? Is there a particular component...
