I also have various zxpands, from old to plus.
Never experienced a wobble.
Have you cleaned your edge connectors of the zeddy? Can you please post a macro photo of your zxpand connector ?

The problem with the wobble would probably exist with any RAM pack that used the same method to hook up to the ZX81, I believe. Have soldered the edge connector?
It seems to be on the wrong side of the PCB and the plastic end parts need to be taken off.
